In the spring of 2007, Capgemini at Texas Energy engaged Origin, Inc. to provide an extensive training program to its offshore center, located in Bangalore, India. Our client’s objective was to prepare their staff to take over all application development and production support functions from another third party to whom they had outsourced the functions. Origin approached this engagement with a specific cutover date and successfully converted Capgemini from the third party to their internal resources located in Bangalore.
Origin took a team of 6 consultants to Bangalore for a three month on-site engagement: two months of formal classroom instruction and process piloting, and one month of post cutover support. Our consultants developed all training materials, which included content on the utility industry, the Oracle software applications, the client’s customizations, and the specific development approaches necessary to support the software.
This engagement was an immense success for the client, the trainees, and Origin. The project was completed ahead of schedule and 14% under budget.
In the fall of 2007, Orlando Utilities Commission (OUC) engaged Origin to evaluate their production use of PSERM, after having cutover to the application in the Spring 2007.
Origin performed a four week analysis engagement evaluating all aspects of OUC’s business, including how they had configured the application during implementation. Origin recommended 58 distinct improvements that could be made to the organization and its use of the product.
In the new year, OUC continued Origin’s involvement within their organization to work with their business and information technology areas and implement the recommendations.
Origin recently completed a very technical assignment where our consultants participated with a client’s technical team to rebuild their CC&B environments. Origin provided hands-on guidance in how to set up their Oracle databases, as well as application logging that would support troubleshooting the new environment.
