Utility Business Consultant
Responsible for developing solutions that enable our utility business users to become more effective in business process, use of software or business information.
Essential Job Functions
- Works as a consulting team member on client engagements.
- Promotes business relationships and identify new business opportunities with customers and partners.
- Plan and coordinate the resources necessary to successfully complete solution implementation.
- Influences client decisions with expertise and work effort that is focused on the analysis of the customer’s business goals, objectives and needs.
- Estimates time frames, quality and quantity of resources required to successfully complete client engagements, develops project plan incorporating all project variables.
- Able to serve effectively as liaison between Origin and its clients.
- Recognize engagements risks and accurately convey them to client and Origin management.
Project Manager
Responsible for the management of an entire engagement undertaken by Origin in a manner that optimizes the ROI from our clients while meeting their objectives.

- Translates the client’s vision and strategy into clear, actionable objectives.
- Leads a team through the engagement; inclusive of assigned client staff
- Mentor and provide guidance for all staff, Origin and client.

- Considers the impact of all business decisions on Origin clients.

Technical Architect
Responsible for ensuring the solutions proposed by the Architects function technically. Works in the technical arena with Origin clients regarding database, performance tuning, and technical environment design.
Essential Job Functions
- Identify potential risk and problem areas and develop procedures that provide effective workarounds to the problem at hand.
- Develop detailed specifications including; logical and physical diagrams or blueprints, application configuration and requirements.
- Produce Technical Architect Document to include the following sections:
- Conceptual Technical Models
- Platform, Performance, Dependability, Security, Operational Requirements
- Integration and Interface, Project Infrastructure, and Batch Infrastructure Requirements
- Training, and Disaster Recovery Plans
- Performance Testing Approach
- Technical Infrastructure Processes
- Roles and Responsibilities
- Produce Technical Infrastructure Project Schedule (resourcing, deliverables, timeline)
- Technical Infrastructure Quality Assurance Reviews to include Hardware Sizing, Conceptual Solution and External Design, Interface Design, and Upgradeability.
- Technical Liaison with Client, Project Management
- Performance Test Plan/Benchmark Plan
- Technical Infrastructure Implementation, and Operational Transition Plan
- Serves as advisory-level pre-sales support and post-sales technical support specialist when needed.
Business Architect
Responsible for developing practical and creative solutions that solve client business problems. Facilitates workshops with senior client management to deliver a clear specification of the client’s business requirements and rationale. Capture and understand the client’s business requirements and specify application or process designs. Responsible for directing the creation of cost-effective solution designs that meet business requirements.

- Understands the product technologies to be used and apply them appropriately.
- Analyze software requirements, defines solution parameters and specifications.
- Leads the function design process. Facilitates design workshops
- Negotiates and manages functional scope to reduce business and technical risks for both the client and Origin.
- Requires Software Development Lifecycle experience.
- Able to apply professional mastery and industry-wide understanding of technology, tools and methodologies to develop solutions in leading edge or critical situations
- Anticipates future customer, industry and information technology trends.
- Expert in business process area.
- Ability to review and understand multiple designs and ensure formation of a creative and cohesive solution.
- Manages the fact-finding, analysis and development of projects.
- Assesses business and technical impacts of solution.
- Superior ability to understand, articulate and address business issues, business drivers and needs.
- Able to plan and facilitate JAD sessions. Able to influence direction of a senior management group in/outside JAD sessions.

Business Designer
Responsible for translating customer business requirements into high quality designs within agreed timeframes utilizing the functional knowledge of chosen products.
Essential Job Functions
- Develops and recommends solutions and strategies, based on the analysis of client business goals, objectives, needs, and existing systems infrastructure.
- Works with the architect and project manager to develop a budget for the external design effort.
- Assists customers to determine business needs.
- Records and publishes detailed minutes of analysis and process redesign sessions.
- Understands and documents business processes.
- Converts a customer requirement into a quality solution.
- Utilizes existing resources to produce designs.
- Writes pseudo code for complex logic (without writing the detailed code).
- Develops detailed, task-orientated estimates to build and implement the system.
- Identifies changes in scope expansion and manage customer expectations of scope.
- Owns the external design and provide support throughout the development and system test phases.
- Performs system test planning and execution as required based on the resource skills mix on a project.
